I’m back. Settling into being online again. Catching up with my long list of neglected correspondence. For now, just going to post a few pictures of the new place and some figs (fichi).

And my favorite shot is of the tabasco bottles we used to make 85 hot wings for Frank, Moira, and Aaron. Send Pepto stat. The bottles (all were eventually used) speak for themselves.

It’s beyond good to be back. And I can now install wireless in Italian and know what and how much a tripolare adattatore per collegare il Modem is (or something like that). Don’t be impressed, the guide has pictures. I did find myself in tears at some point, but recovered.

Is it sad that my happiest thought today is the the COOP is open? Well, not quite my happiest thought, but it was pretty exciting to see my favorite grocery store back in business.
And as for that little thing called the Internet . . . si, bona. Which is kind of like saying, yeah sure. There is also a hand gesture involved, but I digress.
The weather is cooling down here. Lovely rains. Planning on having people over for dinner at my new place. Two weeks ago Kelly and Ale were the practice guests. Now things get serious.
Guess I should mention to those that know me that I’m really enjoying cooking lately. Odd domestic splurging or is it just a matter of money? Boh, I don’t know, but I do have more fun in the kitchen now.
Back to my point, it is lovely here today and slowly businesses are opening back up and that means, yep, more fun to be had. (Now if only Telecom would follow the trend . . .)

um, right. think my dad is correct in saying the grain is stuck in the hour glass. still no net at home. do have a land line though.
but, in lieu of complaining, i’ll point out that the good stuff.
fresh breezy nights, even cool in the shade during the day. humidity is only at around 70 to 80%. don’t know what these italians complain about.
and writing! feel like i really have found the well after a long dry spell. wish i could write more here.
oh, and thanks lorelei for the book. it does help.
Read Eat Prey Love if you can. Thought I’d hate it, but not really.
MISS YOU ALL. As soon as Telecom gets its arse in gear . . . . you’ll tire of all of my posts.

Time is moving slowly in my disconnected state. One tiny piece of time every once in a while. Find myself at another internet point. I seem to know the hospitals, Internet points, and buses rather well. Oh, and l’autobus in August, no fun.
Anyway, the eighth is around the corner, waiting for the sand to trickle by. Then, an inundation of pictures, words, etc.
And writing projects are forming. Need to research. Need the net.
Let me know how you are all doing.
